The history of McKay Music Company is a long one to the school bands of Northeast Texas. Established by original owners Kenneth and Billie McKay in 1954, the tradition of providing quality sales, service, and repair to area school bands continued to 1980 when ownership was assumed by Bob and Sandra Cartwright. They worked on serving the area band needs until July 1, 1999 when current owners James and Denise Coffman took over handling this wonderful music tradition.
It is the desire of McKay Music Company to enhance learning opportunities for students by providing only the highest quality instruments available from the leaders in instrument manufacturing across the world. McKay Music Company also provides weekly service visits to schools and uses highly skilled and experienced repair technicians for the best quality repair service in Northeast Texas.
McKay Music Company currently maintains two store locations; one in Sulphur Springs and one in Garland, Texas. Road service to schools is provided by experienced Texas educators; therefore, you truly have educators serving educators.
